The New Health Sciences Library

Recently reopened in November 2024, the Health Sciences Library was closed for almost a year to create a more modern library space.  The library renovation focused on library spaces for student work including improved access to technology, collaborative and individual study spaces, and innovative furniture concepts that are appropriate for today’s technology needs.

New Service Desk

We are very excited about our new service desk area. It’s more open and a more welcoming feature in the library.
The more modern design makes it easier for us to help our patrons with their questions.

Study Rooms

All of our study rooms were on the 3rd floor of the library and weren’t conducive to comfortable study.
Our new study rooms are now bigger and equipped with monitors with screen sharing.
They are perfect for individual or group study. All are reservable thorugh our online reservation system.

Study Spaces

We recognize that the ideal study space for our students can vary.
One person may like large tables and another person might want ot relax in a nook type area.
That’s why we’ve incorported several different types of study spaces and furniture within the library.

Computer Classroom

You might recognize the computer classoom from before our renovation, but it’s a little different.
We took out the computers and put in more flexible furniture that’s easy to move around.
We may still hold classes in here, but we hope to use it more to host wellness activities like yoga in the library
and our end of semester stress relief activities. When it’s not in use, students can use this space for studying.

Flex Room

This room will serve as a flexible space, both as a study space for students and a place for library employees to hold meetings.
This room is reservable through our online reservation system.

All Gender Restrooms

It was important to us to make sure single use restooms were included in the design of the library.
We now have 4 single use restrooms.
