Parking for Persons with Disabilities

Persons with disabilities may use their handicapped parking permits to park in the Visitors Parking Garage at the intersection of Hospital and Monk Drives. This is the parking garage that is attached to the Hospital. Many designated spaces are available on Main Level near the hospital entrance; a few additional spaces are available on the remaining levels.

Directions (accessible route) from the Visitors Parking Garage to the Health Sciences Library:

1. From Main Entrance of the garage go through the double automatic sliding glass door into the Hospital, heading west.
2. Go past the Hospital Information Desk, heading west down the main corridor of the Hospital.
3. Turn right (north) at the West Elevators (this will be the second hard wood floor area with the star in the middle of the floor) and continue down the hall, past the Lester Bryant Auditorium, until you come to the courtyard with the double doors. These doors are not automatic, but can be bypassed.
4. Taking a right hallway (east) just before the doors. Go down that corridor to the next hallway on the left (north).
5. Take that hallway down and take another left (west, making a U shape around the courtyard).
6. Go to the right (north), the opposite direction of the courtyard to the elevators.
7. Take the elevators from the first floor to the second floor.
8. Exit the elevators, turn left (north), the library is on the north side of the open corridor.
9. The library entrance doors are not automatic, but there will be library staff available if assistance is needed.

There is a second, outdoor route that can be taken:

1. From the Main Entrance of the garage go through the double automatic sliding glass door into the Hospital (heading west).
2. Before the Hospital Information Desk, take the first corridor on the right (north) in the Hospital past the pay phones and soda machines.
3. Take this corridor around (heading west), then exit to the outside through the first automatic doors on your right.
4. Follow the sidewalk, heading north, around the School of Nursing, until you see the Health Sciences Library on the northwest corner of the Medical School.
5. Go up the ramp; to the right (west).
6. Go through the automatic doors to the main archway corridor to the Health Sciences Library.
7. The library entrance doors are not automatic, but there will be library staff available if assistance is needed.
