Interlibrary Loan for Non-affiliates

How can I place a request for materials?

Requests are accepted via the DOCLINE and OCLC Interlibrary Loan systems.  For patrons that do not have access to these systems, the Registration for Non-MU Affiliates Form is the means of getting an account created in the MU Libraries ILL@MU Interlibrary Loan system.

How long does it take?

Most requests for articles are received and processed within two business days. If the request is needed sooner, a rush service is available. Please phone to alert the Interlibrary Loan Dept to rush requests.

Is there a charge for Interlibrary Loan?

Yes, non-affiliates pay a fee for each article that is ordered.

Prices*

$20 == if owned by the J. Otto Lottes Health Sciences Library or the Zalk Veterinary Medical Library
$30 == if borrowed from another library
$9 == surcharge for RUSH requests
*Additional surcharges may apply. The borrower is responsible for all copyright charges. Some materials cannot be lent to unaffiliated users due to license or copyright restrictions.

How do I receive materials?

Journal articles or book chapters are delivered by email if possible. Fax, mail and Fed-Ex delivery are also available.
