Getting citations into EndNote from the MERLIN Catalog
Saving citations in MERLIN for importing into EndNote
- Add to Bookbag desired records.
- When you have finished searching, click on the View Bookbag button.
- Click on Export Saved button.
- Under Format Of List, choose EndNote.
- Under Send List To, choose Local Disk.
- Click on SUBMIT, then from the pop-up box, click Save.
- Select file name and folder to save your citations.
Importing MERLIN citations into EndNote
- Start Endnote and open an existing library or create a new one.
- Choose File from the tool bar and choose Import (the Import screen will come up).
- On the Import Screen there are three boxes requiring input:
- Import Data File: Click on Choose File. Specify the directory and the name of the file you just saved. Click on OK and the information will be put in the provided box.
- Import Options: Choose Other Filters from the pull down menu. Scroll down the alphabetical list of filters. Mark INNOPAC, and click Choose.
- Duplicates: Specify desired option from the pull down menu.
- After the file information has been entered into the three provided boxes click on Import. The file of the saved citations will be automatically imported into the open EndNote library.
- Once the documents are in the library they can be edited as desired.
