Getting citations into EndNote from EbscoHost

  1. If you have not already done so, create the Endnote library (database) where you want to import the references. (You can also put them in an existing EndNote Library.)
  2. Search EbscoHost as you normally would.
  3. Click Add to Folder for each reference you want to save.
  4. Select Folder View underneath the "Folder Has Items" bar on the right side of the screen.
  5. In the Folder View, select the items you want to export into EndNote by checking the box to the left of each item (or choosing Select All).
  6. Select the Export icon (piece of paper with green arrow).
  7. Make sure Direct Export to EndNote to EndNote, ProCite, or Reference Manager is selected. Then click Save.
  8. You may be asked to Choose Destination in order to select or confirm the version of EndNote you're using.
  9. When asked to Select a Reference Library, choose the EndNote library where you want the references to go.

The program should do the rest!

If the journal articles are listed as Film or Broadcast records, you will need to update your RIS filter.

For one-click access from a citation in Endnote back to the corresponding citation in EbscoHost, click on the link in the Web/URLs field.
