Getting citations into EndNote from SciFinder Scholar Web Edition

In the web version of SciFinder Scholar, you will need to save your citations as a .txt file and then import them into EndNote using a filter.
  1. If you have not already done so, create an EndNote library. (You can also put the citations in an existing EndNote library.)
  2. Search SciFinder Scholar Web as you normally would.
  3. Use the check boxes to mark the items you wish to export to EndNote.
  4. Click SAVE to save your selected references on the SciFinder web server in tagged format.
  5. Click EXPORT to save the file to your computer.
  6. Save the file to your desktop as a .txt document.
  7. In EndNote, choose File > Import.
  8. Under Import Data, browse to find your .txt file.
  9. If you do not see it on the drop down screen, click Other Filters. Then choose SciFinder(CAS).
  10. Click on Import.
The program should do the rest!

Note: When you add references to an existing EndNote library, you will see only the most recent entries. Choose References > Show All References (Ctrl+M) to get back to your entire EndNote library.
