Fulltext options from EndNote

(v7 and higher)

The OpenURL feature in EndNote allows you to link from an EndNote reference to a complete full-text article owned by the library. To enable OpenURL:

1) In EndNote, go to the Edit menu and choose Preferences.....

2) Click Open URL (or OpenURL/PDF in later versions) at the bottom of the left-hand menu.

3) Make sure the Enable Open URL box is checked.

4) In the Open URL path box, delete any current information and enter the following URL:
http://mulibraries.1cate.com/missouri/resolver/default.asp?action=cite
 (or http://mulibraries.1cate.com in EndNote X/X1)

5) Click OK .

You only have to enable the OpenURL feature once. To use the OpenURL feature thereafter:

1) Open an EndNote reference (i.e., double click on a reference).

2) From References menu, choose OpenURL Link .

3) A new browser window will open, giving you the available full-text options.


A few caveats:

• These links will only work for MU affiliates, and will stop working if you graduate or leave the university.
  
  
• Full text article links are available only for articles available through library subscriptions. If no electronic fulltext is available, look for a paper copy in MU libraries or place an order via interlibrary loan.
