Conference and Viewing Room Use and Reservations
Two conference rooms are available for use by persons affiliated with the MU Health Sciences disciplines. The rooms are to be used only for video viewing, administrative meetings, and academic purposes such as individual or group study and discussion.
Room Access
- MU Health Sciences students, faculty and staff must present their Mizzou TigerCard to check out a conference room key.
- Rooms will be checked out for two hours.
- Patrons should lock the door when they vacate the room.
- Keys must be returned promptly to Circulation once the room is vacated, in order to clear the patron's record.
- Renewals are allowed if no patrons are waiting for the rooms.
- Patrons may check out only one room at a time.
Reservations
- Reservations can be made for HSL 324:
- in person at the Circulation Desk
- by phone 573-882-4153
- by e-mailing
- Reservations will be canceled if patrons are more than 15 minutes late.
- HSL 142 cannot be reserved. It is available on a first come, first served basis.
Conditions for use
- All rules of the Health Sciences Library apply in the Conference Rooms. For example, patrons are not allowed to smoke, bring in food nor drinks in unapproved containers, or to exhibit disruptive behavior.
- Circulation staff must be notified immediately after patrons receive a room key if a room is found to be in unsatisfactory condition.
- Do not leave room keys unattended. Patrons will be charged a replacement fee for lost keys.
- The library reserves the right to deny future access to the rooms if they are damaged or left in unsatisfactory condition.
- Patrons will be billed for damage that is deemed to be beyond ordinary wear and tear.
- If Library staff determine a checked-out room is unoccupied, all belongings will be placed in the Library's Lost and Found. The room will be made available to other patrons.
- Door windows are to remain uncovered and transparent at all times.
Equipment
Each room is equipped with tables, chairs, and dry erase board. (Dry erase markers are available upon request at the Circulation Desk. Return markers to the Circulation Desk with the room key. Only dry erase markers should be used on the dry erase boards.) HSL 142 and 145 have TVs and VCRs.
Priority Use of HSL 142
Patrons using the video viewing equipment have first priority use of HSL 142. Others are allowed to use the room, but will be asked to leave when someone needs to use the video equipment.
